Guitar Lessons – Island in the Sun, by Weezer chords cover Beginners Acoustic songs

Go to http://yourguitarsage.com/ to find out how to get a free guitar ebook that will have you playing guitar today!!! This guitar lesson vid shows you how to play Island In The Sun, by Weezer. It shows you the chords, strumming technique and style. For more guitar lessons, see my other free tutorials. For original and cover music by me, Erich, go to http://www.myspace.com/erichandreas . Since I’m so busy making new video tutorial lessons all the time and teaching guitar, I probably won’t have time to answer individual questions regarding guitar. Other videos cover beginner, advanced and intermediate levels. I teach rock, blues, country and just about any other style on electric or acoustic. If you can’t find your answer from the resources at the website above, keep digging into my vids, and I’m sure you will find your answer. Keep practicing!!!

Way to cover up the fretboard with your guitar sage lessons banner. nothing like trying to see the most important part of a vid through an obstructive advertisement. If you insist on placing your ad on the screen cover up your face with it, not your left hand dude!

  2. Wouldn't it be nice to see the chords that they play on the recording. Let's go and see their live shows. Sorry for wanting to get it right.
    Thanks anyway.

Hey there. I really like your video but could you somehow mark the rhythm and tell me what strokes are down and what strokes are up? I have a hearing problem and its really hard for me to hear the difference. Once I play guitar more I should be able to train them to hear it but I'm still learning and this would be a huge help. Thank you for the video 🙂

  7. OK guitar teachers…please when you demonstrate your strumming please simply say "down, down, up, down" or whatever.  I know this may be strange to you experts but WE HAVE A  TOUGH TIME, particularly on quick rhythm, hearing if your hitting the chord or not on you strumming demo's.  That off my chest, NICE JOB ON your video!  thx.

  8. I'm Just A Kid

i've just done a cover of 'island in the sun' on my channel, check it out if you're interested (:

  9. Is that a real G chord he's playing? I mean he missed 5-th string on 2nd fret, didn't he?

Gave this as a Christmas present to my hubby and he loves it. I love the new sounds in the house , and easy enough for me to pick it up and learn a thing or two also.

here is the link to it in case anyone is interested:http://amzn.to/1sclF7U

  17. Since I'm a BEGINNER, I don't know all the chords. It'd be nice if you showed me what they. Thx for the effort and all. But this video kinda sucks. (ELABORATE!!!) plz

  18. He's right buddy. Just do like I do … watch TV and try moving your fingers so you can develop your dexterity.

  19. No solo?

  20. no, chickadee

  21. This is very normal. It's about muscle memory. I started playing almost 2 years ago after trying to learn on 3 different occasions in the past. I had never lasted more than a month. On the 4th attempt, after two months I could play some basic songs and do some chord changes I could not just a few weeks ago. And that built my confidence to keep practicing. And I still do today, everyday. I get at least 10 min everyday, it's better than 2h straight on sunday alone.

  22. I have a request for you, and that is that you make a tutorial showing us how to play this song, youtube.com/watch?v=7aDuXhEaPg0 idk what else to say except that its so soothing and anyone can show off with this song, its not tough either I think, just can't play by listening

  23. Practice everyday and eventually you can just hop from one to the other no problem. Do what yourguitarsage said. Don't give up! You can definitely do it 🙂

  24. why do you play the G chord without the A string?

  25. thanks man 🙂 simple and easy

  26. did he just call me a chickatee

  27. BackcountryDave

Thanks Erich! Picked the song up quickly thanks to your excellent lesson. Nice that you played the slow tempo for practicing the chord progression. Cheers!

  28. HIP HIP!
